Week 12B: Perspective on paid social media advertising
My perspective on paid social media advertising is very interesting because I believe that it is partially good but at times it can be too much. Often times when we are scrolling through our social media we do come across a lot of advertising and whether that is through image advertising or video advertising. I think it truly depends on what it is and for what. Sometimes advertisements do its purpose and when scrolling we do get motivated to buy that product or try that out.
There are also other times where advertisements seem forced mainly when it is promoted through someone else on social media just through a video form. Or if a person is already known for doing advertisements you know that it's genuinely not a good 'advertisement' because it's not really doing anything to the customer such as motivating them to buy or use whatever product they are trying to promote. That is why I think social media advertising is very hard to do and it has to be strategic specially in these times.
In social media advertising there are also those brands that are already known to promote every product through their influencers. As mentioned before these brands are already known to do this and the marketing behind it isn't necessarily 'smart' anymore. As well as customers they aren't too motivated to buy that product. But besides all of this I still think that there is still social media advertising that has been done very well.
My overall thoughts on all of this is I think social media advertising in the perspective of being paid sometimes isn't genuine and we can see that its done through the 'paid' part of the advertising that it's their drive of doing it and that's it. But there are times that it is good and we want to purchase that product. It truly just depends on what it is.
