Wk 6: Influencers Compared to Brand Ambassadors
For my business I think influencer would work more because a lot of the more popular coffee shops that have emerged throughout the past years have been through influencers going to their coffee shops. I have seen various coffee shops become popular because an influencer posted about it. I think this has a lot of potential but you also have to push yourself to be out there. Or be in a popular area that they might be around and actually go to your shop.
In the past years in social media I have seen a lot of growth through brand ambassador programs but I think the technique to this is very hard. I say this because there are a lot of brands that have so many influencer in their brand ambassador programs and I think at some point the viewers get tired of it. This also doesn't necessarily show that the product is good because then you know it's an ad and most people can lie just to get the money. This is why I am not too sure about brand ambassador programs but what I do think is very helpful is if you sell merch or even coffee beans then you can take that opportunity and send PR to some influencers.
PR is another way of influencers promoting you. Although PR might be a bit tricky to some because you send it for free but you do expect something back. By sending them some of your products they can get to know you a bit more and perhaps this might get them to visit your shop whenever they are around. Although with influencers you might not know if you will get promoted unlike a brand ambassador program. I still think there is a lot of potential and would fit my type of business more.
