Wk: 3 - Defining a Target Market

 A target market is the specific group of consumers that are likely to buy your product. You may sell a variety of products but there is always going to be a specific group of people who you might want to attract to buy your product because it fits them and their needs. That is why it is important to analyze everything when it comes to your business because through that you can find who are you're customers and what they are most interested in. 

The businesses I choose are all coffee shops because I am interested in opening a coffee shop someday, first as I have mentioned in my previous blog Banana Dang's target market is those who are looking for a unique taste in coffee but remaining locally sourced and all natural ingredients. I believe this is there target market because not only is it showed throughout there whole website but also when you visit their shops. In their website when they are telling their story they mentioned how they came up with the idea of opening a business all about banana's and also mention the importance of advocating for others locally which they do by showing art.  This is their url https://www.bananadang.com/  . 

Next I choose the coffee shop Ascend coffee roasters, the target market for this is those who are coffee enthusiast that really enjoy having fresh coffee beans brewed and can be purchased directly. This coffee shop roast their beans locally but it is also female owned. Their target market is those who enjoy supporting businesses ran by women which is very empowering. All over their website they mention that it is female owned and shows the owner. This not only shows their customers that it can be trusted but also that they should support as there isn't many business that are female owned and specifically locally. Lastly the coffee shop Cosmic Bloom is a very unique coffee shop that offers a variety of drinks not just coffee but other such as Kombuchas and more. Their target market is those who want to try a variety of custom drinks crafted by them. Something that stood out that also works as their target market is that they offer classes on latte art and all sort of art related to coffee. I do believe most of these business are reaching their target audience by promoting themselves through different places such as social media and their websites. I actually found these through social media post of others promoting their place. Through that I have visited some (I still need to visit some of them) but I think if they reached me than they probably have reached a lot more people, they are definitely reaching their target audience.
